Let’s get this party started

I’ve been trying to get this party started for a very long time now. The story is simply that we felt a bit cramped in our edge-of-downtown concrete condo, and started looking around for something a little bigger and a little closer to the centre.

We ended up finding a house a bit further away from downtown, but it was a whole house, with land, had good bones, and had been largely unmodified since it was built in the 30s. Sure it looked like a complete mess on the surface. But just beneath, there was something worth bringing back to life.

Renovating this old vancouver house was going to be a lot of work, and I wanted to capture it.  Unfortunately this all started over a year ago, so I’m way behind.  Fortunately we haven’t accomplished much in that year, so I’m really not that far behind.

So let’s get this party started…

Really old house

Hey love to see someone put together a chronological set of pictures and comments for their renovation project. I am also into renovations around our house and I have to say that having a set of good power tools really makes a big difference.

Gauging from your picture your house is quite small and with minimal updating over the years. One the outside at lease. I might even be tempted to guess that it has wood windows.

Well you have quite a canvas awaiting your creativity. Need to set some deadline for yourself. A baby on the way, wife getting to you, etc.

Let me be the first one to leave a comment here and wish you all the best with your projects.

This photo is from some time in the 40s or 50s. But not much has changed really. And yes, wood windows.

    Thanks for stopping by!
